Welcome! With community services as our foundation, we are driven by goals to enhance the quality of life, investigating problems as well as incidents, seeking solutions and fostering a sense of security in communities and individuals. We nurture public trust by holding ourselves to the highest standards of performance and ethics. To fulfill its mission, the Northeastern Regional Police Department is dedicated to providing a quality work environment and the development of its members through effective training and leadership. _____________________________________________________________________The Northeastern Regional Police Department would like to announce the retirement of Chief Darryl Albright. Chief Darryl Albright has been the Chief of Police since the departments' inception in 1983. Over the years Chief Albright brought the department from a five man department with the office space no bigger than a small closet to a department consisting of eleven men and a 5700 square foot police building. Over the years Chief Albright has recruited officers that have been trained in the latest police technologies and tactics. Chief Albright has demonstrated compassion and kindness to the people in his community as well as his outstanding leadership within the department. We will miss him as his last day approaches on December 31, 2009. However, we wish him good luck with his new job as Chief County Detective for the County of York. Sergeant Bryan Rizzo has been newly appointed as Deputy Chief for the department and will ascend to the rank of Chief of Police at the conclusion of Chief Darryl Albrights long lasting career. Good luck Chief Rizzo in your newly appointed responsibilites. Officer Douglas Demangone will be departing from our department December 31, 2009 to become the new Deputy Chief County Detective for the County of York. We wish Officer Demangone the best of luck in his new position and we will miss him greatly. Arthur R. Archambeault III was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the November 2009 Police Advisory Board Meeting. Sergeant Archambeault is a nine year veteran of the Northeastern Regional Police Department and has served in Law Enforcement for the past fourteen years. Congratulations to all the officers in the department for a job well done! __________________________________________________________________ Since 1998, Chad Forry has been employed as the Physical Ed, Health and Driver's Education teacher. Since 2005 he has been certified to administer the PA driver’s test. He received his Bachelor of Science in Health/Physical Education at Lock Haven in 1998 and since has obtained his Master’s of Education – Education Leadership from Villanova University. The Northeastern Regional Police Department would like to recognize him for an outstanding job that he has been doing with the driver’s education program at Northeastern School District. Every year there is a York-Adams County Safe Driving Competition sponsored by The York-Adams Co. Highway Safety department. Chad’s team has won 9 out of the last ten years, from 2000 to 2009. His students also have won many scholarships for different phases of the competition such as the driver’s exam, (a timed event through a difficult course), written exam and a slide test. The York Co. Chiefs serve as the judges on the driving course. During the Police Advisory Board meeting in October, Chief Darryl Albright of the Northeastern Regional Police Department presented Chad with a plaque acknowledging his outstanding work in this field. In the interest of highway safety and educating our youth, the Northeastern Regional Police Department also donated a Distracted and Impaired Driving Kit. This kit contains Fatal reaction unit & remote, Fatal Vision Goggles, Distract-A-Match game and posters for Chad to use in his classroom. We can’t measure how many lives this may save or how many accidents it could prevent. But if one life is spared, then it is worth every penny we have spent. Keep up the good work Chad! _____________________________________________________________________The Northeastern Regional Police Department would like to announce that Officer Scott George was awarded the "Top Gun" Award for making 84 Driving Under the Influence arrests in the year 2008. The "Top Gun" award is given to officers excelling in the enforcement of Driving Under the Influence and only a select few across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are considered for this prestigious award. Officer Scott George has been serving with the Northeastern Regional Police Department since 2001 and has also been recognized as a Drug Recognition Expert. To date only a handful of Officers across the Commonwealth of PA are certified as such. _____________________________________________________________________
